Zelda II Available on Wii U eShop Today
Have you ever wondered how rugged the Wii U Gamepad is? Well it’s time to find out for yourself because the notoriously difficult, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was made available on the Wii U eShop’s today. This fantastic Virtual Console title will only cost you a nice $5 bill. Check out the trailer below!
As the name suggests, Zelda II was a sequel to the incredibly popular NES title, the Legend of Zelda. Released in 1988, the game has you begin another epic quest starring the iconic hero Link. The princess Zelda has been placed under a sleeping spell that can only be broken by the Triforce of Courage. Link sets out to obtain this fabled treasure, while avoiding enemies who seek the Hero’s blood in order to revive their king, Ganon. Pretty deep stuff!
The gameplay mechanics from this title share very little resemblance to its predecessor. Zelda II is a side-scroller that featured many RPG elements, such as an overworld with random encounters, experience points, and magical abilities. One thing to note… This game is not easy!
Added features on the Wii U version will include:
- The ability to create restore points. (Trust me, you’ll thank them for it…)
- Off-TV play functionality.
- Pro Controller functionality
- A new Miiverse community
Personally I can’t wait to see the Miiverse community. The kids that thought Super Metroid was hard are in for a real treat!
